The 12th Annual Hopkinsville International Festival will be a different format than the past but will still go on this weekend.
Friday afternoon, the parks and rec department announced the first 100 people will be allowed into the Nyama and Helios performance at Thomas Street at 6:30 tonight.
On Saturday, the public is invited back to the Thomas Street Recreation Center for four shows — Capoeira at 11:30, Nyama West African at 1 pm, Nyama Afro Latin at 2:30, and the Helios World Dance Ensemble performance at 3:20.
Again, space will also be limited to the first 100 guests.
The I-Fest live performances will be streamed and then replayed on Facebook as well as the Hopkinsville Parks and Rec Department’s YouTube channel. All of the performance recordings will be saved and available for replay.
The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library International Storytime Tent readings and YMCA Crafts section will only be available on the event’s Facebook page.
Tab Brockman, parks and recreation superintendent, said the two-day lineup will feature talent from Nashville’s Global Education Center performing live from the Thomas Street Recreation Center. This year the performances will highlight Latin, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Indian and Brazilian song and dance.
