Comer Headlining Christian County Ag Breakfast

For the Christian County Agribusiness Association, the Silo Events Center at 110 John Rives Road is the perfect setting for its annual “Ag Breakfast.”

Set for 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, First District Congressman James Comer will be the main guest speaker — and the association’s head, Landan Stallons, notes there’s strong anticipation for the gathering, and especially during national “Ag Week.”

Sponsored by H&R Agri-Power, Siemer Milling, Farm Credit Mid-America and Seven Springs Farms Straw and Fertilizer, the organization will be giving out its annual awards, including: Farmer of the Year, “Ag” Business of the Year, Friend of Agriculture and a Distinguished Service award.

Stallons also noted that patrons should come prepared for bidding on a significant country ham basket, with proceeds set to benefit local 4H clubs.

Now the vice president of commercial lending for Planters Bank, Stallons adds that local and regional ag business is critical for the financial success of west Kentucky.

A free event to the public, Stallons asks any visitors to please RSVP with the Christian County Chamber of Commerce for a headcount. Four Seasons is catering the meal, which is expected to end around 9 a.m.
