Caldwell County High School student Laney McConnell has been selected as one of 30 Kentucky 4-H members to be selected as “Gold Achievement” recipients for 2022. McConnell’s dedication to Kentucky 4-H in the county, region, and state is strong — and is further affirmed from this accolade.

The Kentucky 4-H Achievement Program was created to reward ambitious, hard-working young people throughout the state. In the highly-competitive program, students accumulate points as early as 10 years old — and continue to build success through accomplishments in 4-H and their community.

4-H’ers can start accumulating points as soon as they start 4-H and begin earning recognition by 10 years of age.

Each district can submit 10 applicants for the gold award. Of the 70 statewide applicants, 30 are selected. The competitive program consists of a 40% application score and a 60% panel interview portion.
