Woman Flown To Nashville Hospital After Fiery Trigg County Crash

A woman was flown to a Nashville hospital after a wreck on Rockcastle Road in Trigg County Saturday night.

Trigg County Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Hicks says a truck failed to navigate a curve at the 5000 block of Rockcastle Road causing it to hit a guardrail and become airborne before striking a tree and coming to a rest on the side of the road.

A female passenger in the vehicle was reportedly ejected in the crash and was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for her injuries.

After the wreck, the truck caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames when authorities arrived.

The driver refused medical attention at the scene. Hicks says the crash is under investigation.

The crash happened just after 9 pm.
