NWS Places Region Under Winter Weather Advisory Wednesday Night

The National Weather Service has placed Western Kentucky under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6:00 Thursday morning.

Christine Wielgos, lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Paducah, says mixed precipitation will continue through the evening and overnight hours. Total snow accumulations of one to two inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze are possible.

Wielgos says the falling temperatures will help speed up any crossover in precipitation.

Wielgos says the main impact of the winter weather will be slippery road conditions.

The combination of gusty winds, falling temperatures and wind chills, and falling snow will cause hazardous travel.

Your Weather Edge will continue to monitor this weather system and keep you informed about road conditions and closings and cancellations.
