Caldwell County Reports 52 New COVID Cases Over 2-Day Period

As the highly contagious Omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to spread rapidly, the Pennyrile District Health Department announced 52 total new positive coronavirus cases in Caldwell County with more than half of those cases 18-years old and under.

According to the health department, 19 new COVID cases were reported on Sunday in Caldwell County along with 33 new positive cases on Monday. Of those cases, 33 are 18 and under, including an 11-month old male. Officials indicate all 52 cases are recovering at home.

The health department also reported three new deaths around its five-county district have been linked to COVID-19. Those deaths include a 73-year old female in Crittenden County on December 31, a 51-year old female in Lyon County on December 30, and a 79-year old male in Trigg County on December 27.
