A man was charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registry after an investigation into a suspicious person on Russellville Road Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 54-year-old Donovan Stokes was located walking in the area after a report of a suspicious person at the Circle K gas station.
During the investigation, he reportedly told police he was staying on Butler Road and working on his car at Mohawk Trail but he reported his address to be on Dawson Springs Road.
Police say he became agitated at the jail and started saying he was the police officer’s senior officer. He was arrested and charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registry second offense.
