Illinois Man Indicted for Murdering Aunt in Trigg County

An Illinois man has been indicted by the December session of the Trigg County grand jury for the murder of his aunt in October of this year.

48-year-old Harold Jett, who was also listed as Butch Jett on the indictment, was indicted for first-degree fleeing police, first-degree burglary, and first-degree strangulation in addition to the murder charge.

Jett is charged with the October 14 murder of his aunt, Mary Dullenty, who died of blunt force trauma.

He was arrested after a police pursuit ended at Dullenty’s Hilltop Street residence just outside Cadiz. The Trigg County Sheriff’s Department had responded to a disturbance on the South Road earlier in the day where Jett is accused of shooting a vehicle during an altercation.

Jett is in the Christian County Jail under a $1 million cash bond.
