Authorities have released more information about a shooting on East 8th Street in downtown Hopkinsville Sunday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called just before 2 am for a large fight in the area and a second caller reported shots fired.
When law enforcement arrived they reportedly found 21-year-old Aniya Collins of Hopkinsville deceased in her vehicle from a gunshot wound to the chest. 20-year-old Zamarius Humphries of Hopkinsville was in the roadway with a gunshot wound to his neck and 30-year-old Gteria Acree of Hopkinsville was shot in the leg and showed up at Jennie Stuart Medical Center later.
Police say they believe everyone involved was leaving a party at the Princess Theatre when shots were fired. Humphries was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Acree was treated for her injuries at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
East 8th Street between South Virginia Street and Liberty Street was blocked for several hours as the shooting was investigated.
