36 students represented University Heights Academy at the Kentucky Youth Assembly over the weekend in Louisville.
Ava Roberts was elected Lt. Governor becoming the first from UHA to hold that office, and Livi Ray served as Bluegrass Speaker of the House, becoming the first presiding officer from UHA.
Michelle Salas was named an outstanding delegate, and Sophi Park was named an outstanding speaker. Hannah Jane Holland was named a distinguished media corps member, and as a whole, UHA received a delegation of excellence award.
In addition, two bills presented by UHA students were passed.
Kentucky Youth Assembly is a mock legislature where students from across the state come together, write and debate bills, and elect officers in order to have a true government simulation.
