The Pennyrile District Health Department reported 14 new COVID-19 cases in Trigg County from Friday to Monday with the county now listed in the ‘orange’ on the state’s incidence rate map.
11 of the cases were reported on Monday and ranged in age from one to 79. To date, there have been 2,340 cases reported in Trigg County. In its last update five days ago, the health department reported 63 active cases with four of them hospitalized.
Trigg County’s incidence rate on Tuesday was 24.4 per 100,000 population, making it an ‘orange’ county.
The state introduced an incidence rate map in September of 2020 that takes the average number of new cases over a seven-day period and normalizes it per 100,000 population. A seven-day average of 25 or more cases means Trigg County is labeled a ‘red’ county or critical for outbreak purposes.
Trigg County had been a ‘red’ county every day in November except for November 12th.
There were 421 COVID-19 cases in Trigg County in September and 179 in October. The county is on track for 151 this month.
