Hopkinsville Woman Charged With Playing Lottery Without Paying

A Hopkinsville woman was charged with theft of over $1,000 in lottery games Monday night.

Hopkinsville Police say in October, 26-year-old Melveshia Wright took over $1,000 in lottery proceeds by playing the games without paying for them. She was allegedly taking them from her employer Murphy Oil on Clinic Drive.

Wright is charged with theft by unlawful taking.
