Hopkinsville Man Charged With Drug Trafficking

A Hopkinsville man was charged with trafficking drugs after running from police on Means Avenue in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 24-year-old Laotis Buckley was being arrested on several outstanding warrants for contempt of court and probation violation when he fled on foot. He swam across the river and was arrested behind the Hopkinsville Fire Department.

Police say he was found to have 12 oxycontin pills on him. He is charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
