Western State Hospital’s Christmas Campaign Underway

The community’s help is needed as Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville begins preparations for Christmas activities to benefit patients at the hospital and residents at the Western State Nursing Facility.

Community Services Coordinator Tony Winfield with Western State Hospital says individuals, groups, and businesses can participate in a variety of ways including providing gifts for men and women ages 18 and older. He suggested some gift items include hygiene products, knit caps and gloves, crossword and word search books, playing cards, composition books, and socks.

Another way to participate is to make a contribution to purchase additional gifts and to be used for special events and occasions throughout the year.

And lastly, individuals, groups, and businesses can sponsor a party for a unit of 15 patients which usually costs around $150.00 to purchase refreshments and goodies.

Winfield says your support will help ensure that the holidays are just a bit brighter for patients and residents.
