Early Wednesday morning, an individual not related to the school district was found unresponsive in the vocational building of Trigg County High School.
Officials say district staff immediately reached out to local law enforcement authorities to “resolve” the situation. The Cadiz Police Department and Trigg County Sheriff’s Office both responded quickly to the scene, and the individual was taken into custody without incident.
Officials also note that there was never a threat to students, and local law enforcement completed a thorough sweep of the building prior to student arrival to the campus.
The school’s security team and local law enforcement are currently reviewing security systems at the school to investigate the trespass and what perhaps led to the incident.
