Christian County Schools To Keep Mask Mandate In Effect

In the wake of a special Kentucky legislative session to do away with a statewide mask mandate in schools established by the state department of education, over one-third of the state’s school district has announced they will be keeping its mask mandates in effect for students and staff.

Monday afternoon, the Christian County Board of Education announced they will continue to require anyone inside a public school facility to wear a face covering.

Schools spokesman John Rittenhouse said the school board approved the mask policy on August 5 to limit quarantine absenteeism. He said the policy will be revisited and reassessed before students return from fall break on October 11.
