WKDZ Veterans Voice Founder Sandra Myers Passes Away

Veterans Voice founder Sandra Myers will be remembered for her passion for fellow veterans and her love for the community in which she spent many years.

According to a funeral announcement from Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home in Wadsworth Ohio, Sandra Myers passed away Saturday, August 21, at the age of 80. Sandra was a native of Eugene, Oregon.

Sandra spoke with Commanders from area VFW and American Legion posts and other military organizations to provide news and information to veterans and active-duty military in the area. She also wrote for the Cadiz Record and the Kentucky New Era in her spare time.  She also played an active role in the formation of the Cadiz-Trigg County Veterans Parade.

Sandra also served as secretary for the Cadiz Rotary Club for several years and had a true passion for the youth of the community. She was also an active member of the Janice Mason Art Museum Board of Directors, VFW Post 7890 auxiliary, and other community organizations. Sandra also enjoyed painting, reading, and shopping.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 31, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Medina, Ohio. She is survived by her daughter Lydia Maki, three grandsons, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, and twelve nieces and nephews.
