I-24 Westbound Gridlock Due To Semi Breakdown

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, a semi tractor trailer with mechanical issues is blocking Interstate 24 westbound — beginning at the 61-mile-marker of Trigg County.

The truck driver has reported that his trailer brakes locked up, forcing him to stop in the westbound driving lane of the work zone — which exists for 10 miles from the 55 mile marker to the 65 mile marker.

KYTC and emergency response personnel have been called to the scene, but traffic is being rerouted at Exit 65 to US 68 westbound while truck repair efforts continue.

No injuries have been reported at this time. Estimated repair time is indeterminate, and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes until further notice.
