Cerulean Man Charged With DUI After Princeton Crash

A Cerulean man was charged with driving under the influence after a wreck in Princeton that also caused a large power outage Thursday.

Princeton Police Chief Chris King reports officers responded to the wreck around 10:15 Thursday morning on West Main Street at the NAPA Auto Parts store. He says an investigation revealed 45-year old Robert R. Jones failed to negotiate the curve, causing his pickup truck to run off the left side of the street and hit a utility pole, road signs, and a utility trailer. Upon further investigation, officers determined Jones was under the influence of intoxicants.

Jones was taken into custody and charged with DUI 1st offense.

Officials with the Princeton Electric Plant Board reported the crash caused a large power outage with service restored around 2:00 Thursday afternoon.
