‘Pennyrile Off Roaders’ Collect Thousands For Tennessee Flood Victims

Monday at ACE Hardware in Cadiz, a local Jeep enthusiasts group ran a successful flood relief drive for displaced families and businesses in and around Dickson and Waverly, Tennessee.

According to James Durham, the “Pennyrile Off Roaders” helped collect thousands of dollars in supplies and monetary donations from individuals and businesses, filling an entire trailer and truck that was deployed early Tuesday.

Two club members took down more than 7,000 bottles of water to Dickson on Monday night, as Dickson Rescue and the Dickson YMCA continue to provide shelter and supplies to those who “lost everything.”

On Saturday, Waverly and its surrounding area received more than 17 inches of rain, a state record, leading to unprecedented flash flooding at little warning.

This quick response from locals comes as good news for those in desperate, immediate need.
