During the August 12 Trigg County School Board meeting, longtime public announcer Jason Strickland suggested renaming “Perdue Field” to “Chappell Allen Stadium at Perdue Field.”
Now, the Trigg County School Board is seeking public input.
The board has recently approved a project that will include the reconstruction of the pressbox, bathrooms and concession stand at Perdue Field. And though that project has considerable time before its ground is broken, the belief is that now is the time to collect naming ideas.
Board of Education chairperson Jo Alyce Harper said the public should be able to voice their thoughts on the name, “since this stadium is for them.”
A survey is available on the Trigg County Public Schools website and social media pages, and widely open to the community. There are paper copies of the survey at the Trigg County Public Schools Central Office, for those who prefer a written copy.
The survey will be open through September 30.
