Newest Cadiz Police Officer Sworn In Monday

The Cadiz Police Department has added an officer to its ranks with prior experience in Caldwell and Webster counties.

Boyd Bates was sworn in by Cadiz Mayor Todd King Monday morning at city hall. Bates has previously worked with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and the Providence Police Department. The Fredonia native said he feels comfortable working for a small department.

click to download audioCadiz Police Chief Duncan Wiggins said that because Bates has already graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Police Academy, he will only have to undergo a shorter update course before starting his watch.
