Goodyear Blimp Travels Across Western Kentucky

A Goodyear Blimp was spotted traveling across western Kentucky Monday afternoon on its way back to its Ohio base from covering a professional golf tournament in southwestern Tennessee.

The Blimp was seen flying over communities in Trigg County and Christian County as it headed northeast.

Goodyear Blimp Airshop Public Relations & Logistics Specialist Dan Smith tells the News Edge the blimp traveling over our area western was Wingfoot Three. He says it was heading to Louisville from Memphis after coverage of the PGA – Women’s Golf Championship FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Memphis over the weekend. He says Wingfoot Three will leave Louisville Tuesday for its base in Akron, Ohio.

There are currently three Goodyear Blimps in the United States — Wingfoot One is based in Pompano Beach, Florida, Wingfoot Two is based in Carson, California, and Wingfoot Three is based in Akron, Ohio.
