Man Charged In Hopkinsville Murder (w/VIDEO)

A Hopkinsville man was charged with murder in connection to a shooting on Sharpe Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 36-year-old Mory Burse has been charged with the shooting death of 48-year-old Devon Kendrick.

Law enforcement was called to the area of Sharpe Street for shots fired just before midnight and found Kendrick who had multiple gunshot wounds.

Kendrick was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center where a helicopter had been called to take him to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Authorities say Kendrick later died after he underwent emergency surgery.

Law enforcement blocked off Sharpe Street behind the Dollar General with crime scene tape as they collected evidence in the shooting.

Burse was arrested Thursday and charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Man Killed In Late Night Hopkinsville Shooting

Authorities have released the name of a man that died at the hospital after he was shot several times on Sharpe Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area for the report of shots fired just before midnight. They found 48-year-old Devon Kendrick hit several times. Kendrick was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, and then flown to another hospital. Kendrick later died as a result of his injuries.

Law enforcement blocked off Sharpe Street behind the Dollar General with crime scene tape as they collected evidence in the shooting.
