ARPA Funding Coming To Local Communities

Several local city governments will be receiving additional funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to offset expenses related to COVID-19.

Governor Andy Beshear announced earlier this week more than $157 million in funding will be used for more than 360 non-entitlement cities in Kentucky. The money can be used to offset COVID-19 expenses for communities by covering the cost of personal protective equipment, vaccination clinics, payroll, revenue loss, and more.

The following local communities were allocated ARPA funds:

  • Oak Grove: nearly $1.9 million
  • Princeton: over $1.58 million
  • Cadiz: $691,679
  • Eddyville: $659,050
  • Elkton: $551,323
  • Guthrie: $364,873
  • Pembroke: $230,214
  • Crofton: $183,084
  • Trenton: $97,109
  • LaFayette: $41,433

Governor Beshear’s office says the Department for Local Government was tasked with distributing the funds. The local governments will receive half of their total allocation now, with the second half of funding coming between spring and summer of next year.
