Judge Sentences Oak Grove Shooting Suspect on Drug Charges

 

An Oak Grove man charged in connection to the 2018 shooting of a woman on Meridians Way was sentenced in Christian Circuit Court on drug trafficking, fleeing and evading police, and wanton endangerment charges Wednesday morning.

21-year old Adrian Murray and his defense attorney Michael Thompson along with Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen appeared before Chief Circuit Judge John Atkins for sentencing after he entered into a plea agreement with an eight-year sentence for those charges.

During questioning by Bolen regarding his pre-sentence investigation, Murray was argumentative about the amount of cocaine and marijuana he possessed at the time of his arrest as well as other information presented from the report.

Judge Atkins then had Murray remanded to the Department of Corrections.

Murray is also awaiting trial on the first-degree assault charge in connection to the shooting.
