Camp Cadiz Is Two Weeks Away

Camp Cadiz organizers are getting ready for the week of June 21, when youth and adults will be out in the community conducting service projects.

Co-organizer Andrea Hampton tells the News Edge they are still looking for adult volunteers.

Hampton describes Camp Cadiz as a local mission opportunity.

2019 was when the last Camp Cadiz event was held, as they couldn’t do any projects during the pandemic. Hampton says they completed over 120 projects and served over 700 hot meals to those in need that week.

Hampton says they will have a smaller group of participants for this year’s event. She adds that’s alright as they had some changes to make because of COVID-19.

Hampton says it’s great to watch the youth that participates learn the valuable life lesson.

Camp Cadiz counts on monetary donations to help get the items they need to complete each service project. Any donations to Camp Cadiz can be dropped off at the Little River Baptist Association at 149 Old Dover Road between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays.

For more information, you can follow Camp Cadiz on Facebook or call Marc Frye at (270) 484-0056.
