The chairman of the Cadiz-Trigg County Planning Commission announced Tuesday evening that he is resigning from the group.

Bob Brame told commission members he turned in his resignation letter to Cadiz Mayor Todd King earlier in the day.

Brame said he was very appreciative of the board and the work they have done for the community. He added the community is primed for growth.

As for what’s next, Brame will celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife Patti, with plans to take some trips in the next few months.

Brame steps down with less than two weeks left of his current appointment to the commission. A replacement to fill Brame’s spot on the board will be appointed by Cadiz City Council, with the commission members then deciding who will chair the group. Vice-chair Mike Heffington will serve as interim chair until the board decides the next chairperson.

In other action during the meeting, the commission approved sending the goals and objectives from the Cadiz Comprehensive Plan to the city council for approval. Upon their approval, the commission will then approve the entire comprehensive plan.

An overview of both was presented by Tom Britton of Community Development Services during two public hearings before the regular meeting.

The full comprehensive plan can be read by clicking here.
