More details have been released in an officer-involved shooting on Gold Dust Trail in Trigg County Thursday morning.
Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree says they were at the home for an attempt to locate when the man picked up a 2×4 piece of wood and tried to hit the deputy.
The deputy then reportedly fired his service weapon hitting the man.
Trigg County emergency personnel say the man was shot several times and taken by ambulance to meet with a waiting helicopter at Trigg County Hospital.
The man was then flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, The full extent of his injuries was unknown.
No one else was injured in the shooting. Kentucky State Police are investigating the shooting.
