A special dedication was held Monday morning at the high school’s front entrance to unveil the painting that was purchased and donated by Ann Williamson and the plaque that will be placed under it. The painting was done by Parker’s sister, Candice Whipple.

Trigg Schools Superintendent Bill Thorpe said Parker had a lasting impact on everyone she taught.

Randy McCallon, interim high school principal, added he didn’t really know Parker but has frequently heard about her.

School board member Gayle Rufli said Parker was the main reason the school had a Rotary Interact Club. She shared a story about her husband, John Rufli, going on one of the trips with the group to Nashville.

High school science teacher Kim Adams said a plaque would also be placed over the chemistry lab, which Parker taught for many years. Other school employees and community members shared stories on Parker’s impact on students, families, and the community and added she is dearly missed.

Parker died on January 2, after a battle with COVID-19. She had been employed with the district for nearly 20 years and was very active in the community.
