Hopkinsville Woman Charged With Falsely Reporting A Rape

A Hopkinsville woman was charged with assaulting a police officer and falsely reporting an incident on Caledonia Road Friday afternoon.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called by 39-year-old Jessica Young for a report of a rape and assault.

During the investigation, Young reportedly smiled and admitted to making the claims of rape and assault to get the deputy to respond faster so she could get a ride back to Hopkinsville.

She was allegedly refusing to get out of someone’s vehicle and was under the influence of alcohol. Deputies say Young told them they had to release her because she was raped and had Covid then started spitting and coughing.

Young reportedly told the deputy she was going to say he raped her and said she hoped his children got Covid and raped.

Deputies say by making the false claim of being assaulted and raped it lead to the deputy responding quickly and risking injuries to himself and others on the roadway.

Young is charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, first-degree wanton endangerment, falsely reporting an incident, possession of synthetic drugs, and third-degree assault of a police officer.
