A Cadiz man was charged after he reportedly assaulted a deputy and resisted arrest on Woodland Drive Saturday night.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to the home for an intoxicated male and found 22-year-old Coty Brooks being held down by family members.
Brooks reportedly charged at the deputy when he arrived damaging furniture and a wall before breaking other items in the home as he was being arrested.
Deputies say Brooks threaten to kill the deputy and started banging his head on the cruiser during the arrest.
After getting Brooks to the hospital to be checked out he allegedly tried to get the deputy’s handgun off his side and started screaming inside the hospital.
Brooks is charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, third-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct, and disarming a police officer.
