Camp Cadiz Is Back For 2021

Although the COVID-19 pandemic kept them from helping the community last year, Camp Cadiz will return this summer and complete various projects.

Co-organizer Marc Frye tells the News Edge Camp Cadiz started around 12 years ago with Jason Strickland coming up with the idea for the program.

Frye said the other themes revolve around teaching students things they don’t know to get them out of their comfort zone and the importance of mission work and giving back.

He added the needs of the community are similar to when Camp Cadiz was held in 2019.

As the cost of building supplies increased during the pandemic, Frye said they would be relying on monetary donations to help them get the items they need to complete each project. Any donations to Camp Cadiz can be dropped off at the Little River Baptist Association at 149 Old Dover Road between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays.

The theme for this year’s program will be ‘Get Out of the Boat.’

Camp Cadiz will be held the week of June 21 and features a cost of $15 per student. Frye said you could learn more by visiting their Facebook page or calling him at (270) 484-0056.
