Kentucky Adds Over 600 New COVID-19 Cases Friday

Governor Andy Beshear said the number of Kentuckians who have received at least their first dose of a COVID-vaccine continues to increase slowly.

Friday afternoon, the governor reported 1,708,318 residents have stepped up to meet his 2.5 million vaccine Team Kentucky Vaccination Challenge.

Beshear also announced 607 new COVID-19 cases, five new deaths, and 17 audit deaths. The statewide testing positivity rate decreased to 3.26-percent, with 420 residents hospitalized with the virus, and the number of those in the ICU and on a ventilator dropped slightly.
