The Kentucky State Fair Board voted Thursday to move forward with plans for a 2021 fair.
State Ag Commissioner Ryan Quarles said the board voted unanimously to move forward with preparations, with all members believing in the importance of moving forward with planning a 2019-style fair with the full understanding that changes may be needed.
Quarles added it’s easier to scale back an event rather than try to ramp it up quickly.
The 2021 Kentucky State Fair is scheduled to occur August 19-29 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville.
