Two Transportation Projects To Benefit Local Economy

Future Cadiz location of Bambino’s Pizza and Senior Lopez

Governor Andy Beshear announced road and infrastructure repairs for much of the Commonwealth through a $5 million transportation investment, including projects in Cadiz and Hopkinsville.

Nearly 60 miles of roadway across the state will be resurfaced, repaired, or built with the funding as a result of Tuesday’s announcement.

Governor Beshear’s office said the Cadiz project would get $140,000 in funding for the construction of Jolly Way, across the street from FNB Bank on Main Street. The nine-tenths of a mile road will provide school buses a safer route to the bus garage on Glenwood Mill Road and serve as an entranceway to Bambino’s Pizza and Senior Lopez Mexican Restaurant under construction.

The Hopkinsville project would see a new access road to the James E. Bruce Convention Center to help reduce congestion during large events and provide emergency responders an alternate access route. The project will get $341,300 from the state.

The funding will be administered by the Department of Rural and Municipal Aid within the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
