‘Kentucky Afield’ Illustrated On Display At Janice Mason Art Museum

The Janice Mason Art Museum in Cadiz has a new exhibit that features many covers of ‘Kentucky Afield’ magazine that will remain up for most of the spring.

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Artist Rick Hill, a native of Jeffersontown, told the News Edge he began his professional art career at 18.

Hill added he finds his inspiration in nature and did not have a hard time finding it during the COVID lockdown.

On top of painting each cover of ‘Kentucky Afield’ since 2000, Hill designed five license plates for the Commonwealth.

Hill said he wants people to be able to relate to the work he has done.

The magazine cover paintings are on display through Saturday, June 5, at 71 Main Street.

The Janice Mason Art Museum is open daily, except for Monday, with hours 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
