Two Charged After Providing False Identities

A traffic stop for reckless driving on Maggie Road in Trigg County led to the driver and passenger being charged with theft of identity.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say 34-year-old Randy Holt of Waynesboro, Tennessee, was stopped after he was seen driving on the wrong side of the road. During the stop, Holt reportedly gave police someone else’s name, birthday, and social security number claiming it to be his.

A passenger in the vehicle 34-year-old Shayna Burns of Collinwood, Tennessee, allegedly claimed Holt was telling the truth and said he was her husband. Deputies say Burns admitted the name Holt used belonged to her husband and Holt was her current boyfriend.

Holt is charged with reckless driving, no registration plate, operating on a suspended or revoked license, and theft of identity. Burns is charged with complicity to theft of identity.
