Cadiz River Front Walking Trail Reopen After Hard Work By Boy Scouts

A Trigg County High School sophomore is one step closer to becoming an Eagle Scout after completing a service project in Cadiz.

Makoto Hiter and Boy Scout Troop 2057 took the time to clear the River Front Walking Trail behind the Renaissance Stage.

Hiter tells the News Edge planning the project and full implementation of the plan took about five months, with over 100 work hours put into clearing it.

Before cutting the ribbon to the trail, Hiter thanked everyone who helped with the project.

Cadiz Mayor Todd King congratulated Hiter on being one step closer to becoming an Eagle Scout and presented him with a key to the city.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday afternoon at the head of the walking trail. The event was sponsored by the Trigg County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Cadiz.
