Hopkinsville Man Charged With Firing Gun Before Thursday Night Crash

A Hopkinsville man was charged with wanton endangerment after he fired his gun then wrecked his truck on Greenville Road Thursday night.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say 52-year-old Robert Wagner fired a shot from his truck at the intersection of Cave Street and Greenville Road just before 10 pm. Wagner then turned onto Greenville Road and his truck ran off the road hitting several mailboxes, a sign, then a fence, and a metal awning near Cave Run Drive.

Wagner was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for injuries from the crash. Deputies say no property was damaged and no one was injured when the shot was fired on Cave Street.

Wagner is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, DUI, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
