A Hopkinsville man was charged after he was found with marijuana and a stolen gun Friday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 28-year-old Andre Newsome was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by police Thursday night.
During the stop, Newsome who was reportedly put in the back of a police cruiser with the driver of the vehicle could be heard on video telling the driver there was no need for both of them to go to jail.
The driver then allegedly said he would tell police the drugs were his.
Police say after reviewing the video they went to Newsome’s home on South Clay Street and found a handgun, a rifle, digital scale, and marijuana.
Newsome is charged with trafficking in marijuana, receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
