Magistrates Approve Waste Tire Management Program Agreement

Christian County magistrates unanimously approved the 2021 Waste Tire Management Program agreement to collect used and old tires in the area for disposal.

Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says the Waste Tire Management Program occurs about every three years. Former magistrate and Solid Waste Coordinator Jim Fleming says three years ago they took in nearly 30,000 tires in Christian and surrounding counties.

In other action, magistrates approved an amended ordinance on second reading authorizing the addition of the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department’s membership dues to property tax bills as presented by County Attorney John Soyars.

click to download audioAt the meeting, magistrates also heard presentations from Christian County Weather Spotters Coordinator David Powell and Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library Director DeeAnna Sova.

The next meeting of the Christian County Fiscal Court will be Tuesday morning, April 13, at 8:30.
