A Hopkinsville man was charged with theft after he took an SUV on Hazel Street in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 40-year-old Douglas Dotson took an SUV without the owner’s permission and as they were reporting the vehicle stolen he drove by.
Police say Dotson was stopped on East 21st Street near the intersection of Fort Campbell Boulevard in the vehicle.
Dotson reportedly told police he was given the vehicle. He is charged with theft by unlawful taking he was also found to have two warrants for failure to appear.
