A Kuttawa man was arrested on warrants Friday afternoon charging him with his second DUI offense and trafficking meth.

Lyon County Sheriff Brent White says 46-year old James Michael Howard was taken into custody by Deputy Seth P’Pool shortly before 1:15 p.m.

Sheriff White reports they began an investigation into Howard, who was living on Locust Street, on March 8. He says the investigation revealed Howard was in possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell it. He adds Howard was also in possession of numerous baggies and a scale.

Deputy P’Pool seized numerous items of evidence during the course of the investigation, including electronics, electronic devices, containers, and a vehicle. Following the investigation, Sheriff White says a criminal complaint was submitted to a District Judge who authorized an arrest warrant for Howard on Friday.

Howard was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also reportedly charged on a warrant for DUI-2nd offense.

The investigation is continuing by Deputy Seth P’Pool.
