Resolution Possible In Case Of Cadiz Man Charged In May 2020 Knife Attack

Another pretrial conference date has been set for the Cadiz man charged with attempted murder after he allegedly cut another man with a knife in May 2020.

Dustin Underwood and public defender Mary Rohrer appeared virtually in Trigg County Circuit Court Wednesday before Judge C.A. Woodall. Rohrer said they need another pretrial date to possibly resolve the case.

Judge Woodall set his next court appearance for May 12.

Underwood was indicted by a Trigg County grand jury on a charge of attempted murder, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being a persistent felony offender.

Underwood’s charges stem from May 19, 2020, when state police said he used a knife to cut a then 35-year old man’s jawline during a fight in southern Trigg County. Police reportedly learned about the fight when the man showed up in the emergency room at Trigg County Hospital.

Underwood remains lodged in the Christian County Jail.
