Trigg County To Apply For State Utility Assistance Funding

Trigg County magistrates approved a resolution Monday night to apply for $200,000 in utility assistance funding to help residents behind on their bills because of COVID-19.

Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander told magistrates the funding announced by Governor Andy Beshear is available for each Kentucky county.

The funding will be administered through Pennyrile Allied Community Services, which already has a program to help those in need across their nine-county service area. Alexander added those who need assistance would have to apply through PACS.

In other actions during the meeting, magistrates approved an ordinance to reduce the speed limit from 55 to 35 MPH along the entirety of North Tanyard Road. The new speed limit will go into effect after publication in the Cadiz Record next Wednesday, March 10.
