Trigg School Board Approves 2021-22 Calendar

The Trigg County school board approved the 2021-22 school year calendar and learned about an option for students to catch up over the summer.

The calendar, which received the most votes from teachers, students, parents, and members of the community, shows that students will return to the classroom on Wednesday, August 11. Fall break would take place October 4-8, with Thanksgiving break from November 24-26.

Christmas break would be from December 20 to December 31 and spring break would be from April 4-8, 2022. The last day for students would be tentatively scheduled for May 19, 2022.

The second reading of the calendar was a part of Thursday night’s consent agenda, passing 4-0, with board chair Jo Alyce Harper absent from the meeting.

During staff reports, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Karen Solise told board members they are working on a program called Camp CATapult to help those students who are not severely behind.

Exact dates for the program and additional information will be released to parents and students in the future.

Solise added they will also host a parent boot camp Monday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 in the Trigg County Middle School Media Center. The boot camp will help parents who do not understand some of the technology their students are using or talking about.
