An 18-hole disc golf course will be built at the Trigg County Recreation Complex.

The news comes after action from the Cadiz-Trigg County Parks and Recreation Board, which approved the plans Wednesday afternoon. Board member Mike Wright tells the News Edge he believes the course will be a major attraction to the county.

Wright adds the course will be installed across the street from the Lexie Bush Convention Center.

Plans are to start the course design process in late spring, with the total cost for the project coming in at around $34,000.

Wright adds parks and recreation are also in the early stages of planning a walking trail around the complex property.

Twenty-five percent of the City of Cadiz restaurant tax funds go to the board, and that is the money they utilize for the projects they take on.
