Christian County Magistrates Approve Small Land Purchase (w/VIDEO)

Christian County magistrates approved the purchase of a small parcel of land near the new sheriff’s office Tuesday morning.

Judge-Executive Steve Tribble tells the News Edge the property sits between Young Street and Hipkins Street.

Judge Tribble says the new parcel of land stretches all the way back to North Fork Little River and was purchased for $10,000.

The process for purchasing the property started a few months ago when magistrates went into closed session to ask Christian County Attorney John Soyars to look into who owned it.

In other action, magistrates approved overtime for 15 county road employees because of the recent winter weather systems.

Tribble adds his office has received several compliments about the county road crews and their work during and after those winter storms.

Magistrates also approved several reappointments to the ethics, industrial development board and revolving loan, and Little River Water Quality Consortium boards.
