Todd County Health Department To Vaccinate Twice Next Week

The Todd County Health Department plans to give COVID-19 vaccines on two days next week to make up this week’s clinic that was canceled due to the winter weather.

Health department director Jen Harris said they should receive both this week’s and next week’s allotment of the vaccine on Tuesday which will allow for two vaccination clinics.

click to download audioHarris said the health department has given 550 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and is working to get them into arms as soon as they can.

click to download audioHarris said next week’s vaccines will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis with Todd County residents that are 70 and older given first priority. She said the health department tried a signup process to give the shots but the first-come, first-serve process works better.

click to download audioHarris said those who that have already received a first dose of the COVID-19 will be contacted by the health department to schedule the second dose.

click to download audioHarris said anyone 70 and older who wants the COVID-19 vaccine in Todd County should go to the parking lot of the former Ardco building next to Dairy Queen on Tuesday and Wednesday at noon. She said they hope to move to Phase 1-C of the vaccination process in early March depending on how many vaccines they receive to finish 1-B.
